Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing shall be held by the Bellefonte Planning Commission on Thursday, May 6, 2010, 7 p.m., at Bellefonte Town Hall, to consider a revised Land Use Code and a proposed revised Zoning District Map (Ordinance 2010-01, entitled AN ORDINANCE TO REVISE AND REPLACE BELLEFONTE ZONING CODE AND AMENDMENTS
RELATING TO THE TOWN OF BELLEFONTE ZONING REGULATIONS, MAPS, AND DISTRICTS.)
At the hearing, the Planning Commission shall hear public comments, and will review and make recommendations concerning the draft Land Use Code and proposed Zoning District Map. The proposed Ordinance and Map, if adopted by the Commissioners after Planning Commission comment, will replace the current Bellefonte Zoning Code, as amended, and will comprehensively rezone the Town. The purpose of the proposals is to update the zoning code and rezone the Town pursuant to the Bellefonte Comprehensive Development Plan (2008).
The Ordinance is available for public review at Bellefonte’s website, Proposed Town Use Code and copies will be available at the hearing. Residents with disabilities requiring special accommodation are asked to call Town Hall at least 3 days in advance of the hearing. Solicitation of Candidates
The Town of Bellefonte annual election will be held
Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the Brandywine Hundred Fire Company,
1006 Brandywine Blvd., from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Offices to be Elected:
Town Commissioner (2 year term)
Town Commissioner (2 year term)
Town Treasurer (1 year term)
Town Assessor (1 year term)
Candidate Qualifications:
· All positions: Citizen of the Town of Bellefonte
· Treasurer must also be a freeholder (property owner)
· Must not have been convicted of a felony
· At least 21 years of age by date of election
· Qualified voter for at least 1 year
How to file for candidacy:
Submit a letter or other certificate to the Town Commission Secretary (Keith Hughes) or President (T.J. LoVerde) declaring candidacy for a designated position. This letter or certificate may be placed in the mail slot at Town Hall.
