BELLEFONTE TOWN COMMISSION
WORKING MEETING AGENDA
Town Hall
October 7, 2009 7:00 P.M.
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
SPECIAL NOTE: NO DECISIONS ARE MADE OR VOTES TAKEN AT THIS MEETING
1) Review minutes of 9/14 Commission Meeting
- This is needed so we do not spend too much time reviewing the minutes at the next Commission meeting on 10/12. Our goal is to make our Commission meetings shorter so that we will get more participation from the general public.
2) Review how the picnic plans went and create a list of what worked and what could be improved upon next year.
- It is better to create our list right away while it is fresh in our minds rather than wait until next year, and since no voting is needed it would waste time discussing this at the next Commission meeting on 10/12.
3) Start discussing Christmas plans.
- We can start putting together plans of what we want to do for a possible tree lighting ceremony at our 12/14 Commission Meeting. This will save time during the next Commission meeting on 10/12. It would be good to get the local businesses involved to make it one large event. This will require a lot of coordination and the creation of a Committee such as the one that organized the town picnic.

September 9, 2009 7:00 P.M.
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
SPECIAL NOTE: NO DECISIONS ARE MADE OR VOTES TAKEN AT THIS MEETING
1) Review of minutes of 8/10
- This is needed so we do not spend too much time reviewing the minutes at the next Commission meeting on 9/14. Our goal is to make our Commission meetings shorter so that we will get more participation from the general public.
2) Review/discuss ideas accumulated at Picnic Committee meeting held on 9/2
- Because of the quickly approaching date of the town picnic (9/26) the Picnic Committee should present results of their 9/2 organizational meeting to formulate a proposed budget that can be voted on without lengthy discussion at the next Commission meeting on 9/14.
3) Review the problems that still exist with the phone system.
- The phone system problems have been going on for several months. We would like an update on what hurtles remain and brainstorm possible solutions. Once each commissioner has the information, over the following week they can think about options for going forward and bring those to the table at the next Commission meeting on 9/14 for a vote.
4) Accumulate subject matter for next town news letter.
- The news letter needs to be printed and mailed by 9/15 in order to give all town residents a reminder notice about the picnic. This can’t wait for the 9/14 meeting and does not require any voting.

Town Commissioner
Dan Rosenthal
I have been a resident of Bellefonte for 4 years and have lived at my current residence on Brandywine Blvd. for almost 2 years. Professionally, I am employed by Sunoco, Inc. in Marcus Hook, PA as a Communications Coordinator.
Personally, it would be an honor to be elected as one of Bellefonte’s Commissioners. I have thought about becoming involved with the town for some time now. I feel the town has been very successful in making Bellefonte a beautiful and overall wonderful place to live. I would like to help carry out ideas already brought forth by the Town Commission and also introduce some new ideas that will help Bellefonte continue down the already successful path it is on. I am eager to meet all of you at the next Town Meeting. Thank you so much for your time.
Keith Hughes
Keith has links to an earlier Bellefonte through his mother who grew up here in the 1920’s and attended the original Mount Pleasant Elementary. Four years ago he and his wife and son moved into the area from the New York metro region.
Keith is a Finance Manager for ThermoFisher Scientific and holds a degree in Accounting. He is committed to the small town nature of Bellefonte and will work to ensure that decisions made are financially sound and in our best interest.
Thomas J. LoVerde
My name is Thomas J. LoVerde, but my friends call me T.J. I trust that as you make my acquaintance you also will consider me a friend. I just turned 38 on May 25th and in September will celebrate 10 years of marriage with my lovely bride, Robyn Cheri. In 2005, Robyn and I decided to move to Bellefonte at the recommendation of our realtor, and now friend, Barbara Levy. We were very pleased with what we saw—quaint shops and quiet neighborhoods well protected by Brandywine Hundred Fire Company No. 1 and Delaware State Troop 1 at Penny Hill.
For over four years I have enjoyed living and serving with my neighbors in Bellefonte. The time now has come for me to serve this great community in an additional capacity. I believe it is my civic duty to take a turn at representing my neighbors and fellow citizens of Bellefonte. I will do that by running for Town Commissioner. I ask you, my friends, to allow me the privilege of serving you in this capacity.

Treasurer/Tax Collector
Curt A. Nash (Incumbent)
I have been the Treasurer and Tax Collector for the Town of Bellefonte for the past ten years. As such, I have been intimately involved in both the management of the Town’s finances and the financial decisions surrounding tax policies and spending. Professionally, I am a Finance Manager, responsible for reporting and budgeting, for a Fortune 500 company. I hold an MBA from Wilmington University.
