Snow Plowing Contract
The Town of Bellefonte, DE, and the Bellefonte Town Commission (BTC) are seeking
bids for snow plowing for the 2007-8 winter season. Bids will be accepted starting on
November 1 and will remain open until November 10 at 5 pm.

Contract Specifications/Terms of Service:
The Town of Bellefonte contains 5.47 miles of roads (click here for map)
The standard for service has been the same for years: 3 inches of accumulation before
plowing begins, unless requested by Commissioner of Town Services.
Please detail all charges for snow plowing including:
- Cost of removal per inch or range of inches (if there are varying rates for accumulation)
- Surcharges per hour for major snowstorms, fuel, etc.
- Traditionally, salt and sand are done by request of the Commissioner of Town Services
for
problem areas such as hills and some intersections. Please provide quote for
salting /sanding for:
1) whole town and
2) problem areas.
- Plowing is to be done "curb to curb" where parked cars are not present especially at all
intersections
- Shoveling of sidewalks surrounding Town Hall and the Day Care Center at 901 Rosedale
Avenue.
As an approved contractor for the Town of Bellefonte, you must provide proof (submit
copy) of 1) state business licensing
2) worker's compensation insurance, and
3) liability insurance.
Payment Information
Bills are to be submitted to the Bellefonte Town Commission and will be paid following
authorization for payment (at most 30 days). Bills should be submitted prior to the second
Monday of the month (Town Meeting).
Review of Bids/Awarding of Contract
Bids will be reviewed at the Bellefonte Town Commission Meeting on November 12, 7
pm at Town Hall. Per Town of Bellefonte purchasing procedures, the specifics of service
to be provided and bids for such will be reviewed publicly and a contractor will be
selected. The total amount of the contract and all invoices for services provided by the
selected contractor will be made public.
All bids must be received by Saturday, November 10, at 5 pm.
